Interventional Radiology (IR) is a modern medical specialty that uses imaging technology—such as X-rays, CT scans, ultrasound, and MRI—to perform minimally invasive procedures for diagnosis and treatment of various diseases without major surgery.
It is often called the “surgery of the future” because it allows treatment through a tiny pinhole rather than large incisions.
